(4P)\\ +\\ +Platon ist der Auffassung, dass Gerechtigkeit das höchste Gut eines Staates sei. Mit Staat bezeichnet er das soziale Umfeld, welches das Erkennen der Gerechtigkeit vereinfache. Damit ist sein Begriff von Staat deutlich weiter gefasst, als der von uns heute verwendete, der nur die Organisation der Gesellschaft bezeichnet, ansonsten allerdings Wert- und Ideal-frei ist. Platon entwirft in Politeia einen, nach seiner Vorstellung, idealen Staat. Dieser ist in drei Stände eingeteilt, den Stand der Bauern und Handwerker, den Stand der Wächter und den Stand der 'Philosophenherrscher'. Platons Definition und Verständnis von Staat umfasst auch die Definition eines gemeinen Ziels, der Gerechtigkeit. Für Wächter und Herrscher gilt au{\ss}erdem die Aufhebung des Privateigentums, sowie das Abschaffen der Familie, deren Aufgabe der Stand der Wächter übernimmt. Auch die Zensur ist für Platon ein erwünschtes Konzept.
