# Barack Obama visit: timetable

7:00AM BST 23 May 2011
**Monday, May 23** - Arrives in Dublin; meets with President Mary McAleese and
Prime Minister Enda Kenny; visits the village of Moneygall, birthplace of an
ancestor

9:35am: The President and First Lady Michelle Obama touch down at Dublin
Airport on Air Force One to be greeted by Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore.
10:15am: Their first engagement will be with President Mary McAleese, who will
greet them at her residence in the Phoenix Park, Aras an Uachtarain, before
they hold a private meeting and sign the guest book and attend a tree planting
ceremony.
11:15am: The President holds a bilateral meeting with Taoiseach Enda Kenny and
the Tanaiste in the state residence Farmleigh, in the Phoenix. Aides say the
talks will include "all matters of a national interest".

1:20pm: President Obama is due to travel to the US Embassy in Ballsbridge for
a private meet and greet with the Washington diplomatic corps.
3:15pm: The President and First Lady visit his ancestral homeland in the
village of Moneygall, Co Offaly in the Midlands where 2,000 lucky golden
ticket winners will get to share the homecoming celebrations.
5:30pm: President Obama follows in the footsteps of other leading Irish-
American presidents when he delivers a speech to a crowd of thousands on
College Green in Dublin city centre.
:: The President will stay overnight in the Irish capital before departing
from Dublin Airport on Air Force One tomorrow morning for his state visit to
the UK.
**Tuesday, May 24** - Arrives in London; tours Buckingham Palace's Queens
Gallery with the Queen; meets with Prime Minister David Cameron; attends a
state dinner at Buckingham Palace
**Wednesday, May 25** - Holds a press conference with Mr Cameron; delivers a
speech to both houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall; hosts a dinner for
the Queen at the US ambassador's residence
**Thursday, May 26** - Arrives in Deauville, France; attends two working
sessions at the G8 summit
**Friday, May 27** - Attends the final working session; flies to Warsaw; meets
with President Bronislaw Komorowski; has dinner with Central European leaders
**Saturday, May 28** - Meets with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk; holds a
joint press conference; pays tribute to the late President Lech Kaczynski and
95 others who died in a 2010 plane crash; returns to Washington
