The Foreign Secretary said the arrest of Gen Mladic is an "historic moment"
|
|
for the future of the western Balkans.
|
|
|
|
War devastated the region between 1992-95, and although other war-crimes
|
|
suspects remain on the run, GenMladic, commander of the Bosnian Serb army, was
|
|
the last remaining high-profile fugitive from the conflict.
|
|
|
|
Mr Hague said Gen Mladic was indicted of the "most hideous crimes", chiefly
|
|
for his role in the Srebrenica massacre - in which at least 7,500 men and boys
|
|
were killed - the worst single atrocity in Europe since World War II.
|
