Few holiday destinations have such strong associations as Ibiza. The clubbing
|
|
culture that took off in the Eighties and remains at the cutting edge of the
|
|
music scene to this day has, for some, come to define what the island is all
|
|
about.

reputation for unfettered hedonism and it's hardly surprising that Ibiza is

Dalt Vila, the fortress built on a hill at the centre of Ibiza Old Town, is a
|
|
microcosm of the island's past from the Phoenicians, the island's original
|
|
settlers, to the Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Moors and Christian Catalans who
|
|
have all ruled the island over the centuries.
