There are 499 gold medals available at the London 2012 **[Paralympic][6]**
|
|
Games.

|

|
London 2012 is expecting around 4,200 athletes from 170 National Paralympic
|
|
Committees to attend the Paralympic Games

Britain has finished second on the medal table at the last three Paralympic
|
|
Games. In Beijing the British team won 102 medals, 42 of them gold. For London
|
|
2012, Paralympics GB aims to maintain its position of second on the medal
|
|
table.
|
|
|
|
**Where are GB strengths? **
|
|
|
|
GB won gold medals in nine sports in Beijing, demonstrating that strength
|
|
across the board. Britain's Para-dressage team is at the top of their sport at
|
|
the moment, while Britain's Para-cyclists, track and field athletes and
|
|
swimmers also have exceptional squads.
|
|
|
|
**What events are there between now and one year to go? **
|
|
|
|
The BT Paralympic World Cup will be held in Manchester from May 23-28. London
|
|
2012 will mark the day but the main focus for One Year to Go celebrations will
|
|
be the International Paralympic Day which will be held on September 8.
|
|
|
|
**How many tickets are there? **
|
|
|
|
There are around 2 million tickets available for the Paralympic Games
|
|
|
|
**When do tickets become available?**
|
|
|
|
Tickets will be on sale from the September 9 until the September 30, 2011 via
|
|
an application process.
|
|
|
|
**What is the range of the ticket prices? **
|
|
|
|
Pricing for Paralympic tickets will be released on May 10, along with the
|
|
daily competition schedule so that people can start planning their Paralympic
|
|
Games.
|
|
|
|
**How do I buy tickets? **
|
|
|
|
You can apply for tickets online at [www.tickets.london2012.com][12] between
|
|
September 9 and September 30, 2011. For those who don't have access to a
|
|
computer, you can apply using the paper application form which are contained
|
|
in the official ticketing guide available from Lloyds TSB branches in England
|
|
and Wales, Bank of Scotland branches in Scotland and public libraries in
|
|
Northern Ireland from September 9.
