blog is to be preferred to weblog. It refers to a website that publishes
|
|
entries in reverse chronological order and that usually allows readers to

comment on each entry. An individual entry on a blog is a blog post; posts are
|
|
not comments, which are observations left on a blog by a reader or even by the

blogger himself.

blooms are not to be used for flowers.

brilliant: its legitimate usage to describe a dazzling object is acceptable.

Use carefully to describe someone of rare intellectual attainment. Its casual
|
|
use as an adjective to describe any person or object that we might wish to
|
|
refer to favourably is ineffably tabloid and is to be avoided.
