## Vodafone is taking pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy S, which runs the

latest version of Google's Android operating system

Samsung's new Galaxy S smartphone, which runs the latest version of
|
|
[**Google**][3]'s Android operating system, is now available to pre-order from
|
|
Vodafone.
|
|
|
|
The device, which goes on sale later this month, runs Android 2.1, and gives
|
|
users access to thousands of apps from the Android Marketplace. It features
|
|
Samsung's Social Hub, which collates emails, texts, instant messages and
|
|
events in to a single, real-time feed to make it easier to stay in touch with
|
|
friends. It boasts a 4in AMOLED screen and five-megapixel camera, and can
|
|
shoot high-definition movies.
|
|
|
|
Customers can place a pre-order for the 16GB device on the Vodafone website.
|
|
The Galaxy S is free on two-year, £35-per-month contracts, and includes 900
|
|
minutes of free calls, unlimited free text messages and monthly data allowance
|
|
of 1GB.
|
|
|
|
Vodafone has an exclusive deal with Samsung for the 16GB version of the Galaxy
|
|
S.
