# Halo Spartan in jetpack flies around Trafalgar Square
|
|
|
|
## A stuntman wearing a jetpack has flown around Trafalgar Square to promote
|
|
the launch of the latest Halo video game.
|

The figure, dressed as a 'Spartan' character, circled Nelson's Column,
|
|
remaining airbourne for around 30 seconds.
|
|
|
|
The latest addition to the Halo series, [**Halo: Reach**][3], is due to be
|
|
released on 14th September 2010.
|
|
|
|
Developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game studios for the Xbox 360
|
|
console, it is the fourth in the series of Halo science-fiction video games
|
|
and takes place in the year 2552 in the midst of a long war against a
|
|
collective of alien races known as the Covenant.
|
|
|
|
The game marks the final episode in the Halo series that Bungie will work on.
|
|
However Microsoft continues to hold the rights to the gaming franchise. They
|
|
are yet to announce any plans for future games.
|
|
|
|
This morning's promotion by Team Xbox showcased one of the game's exciting new
|
|
features, the jet pack.

"One of the coolest new features are the Jetpacks that Noble Team Spartans are
|
|
now equipped with. We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the biggest
|
|
entertainment launch of 2010 than with our very own Jetpack Spartan in one of
|
|
London's most iconic landmarks" said Stephen McGill, Director of Xbox and
|
|
Entertainment, UK & Ireland
|
|
|
|
Passersby were offered earplugs for the event, as the jet pack generates 140
|
|
decibels of sound.
|
|
|
|
The jetpack was made famous on the opening on the summer Olympic Games in Los
|
|
Angeles in 1984 and also appeared in the James Bond film, Thunderball.

|
