Creating a post
1. Create a new post
On the posts page or on your profile page click the + button to launch the post editor.
If you prefer to create an event, read more here.
2. Add a featured post image (optional)
A featured image can help users recognize what your post is about.
Only use images for which you have the rights to use. For licenced images adhere to the terms of licence (e.g. mentioning the source or the creator).
- To add an image click the image button and select the featured post image from your device. Drag and drop works too. The featured image can be up to 2000 pixels high and must be one of these file formats: GIF, JPG, PNG.
- Once uploaded the image is shown on a checked background if either the image or the canvas does not have the standard width-to-height ratio of 3:2.
- To crop the image select the section of the image to be used. Click on the blue frame, keep the mouse button pressed, move the frames to the place of your choice and release the mouse button. When finished click the
Confirmbutton to crop the image. - If the image might be inappropriate for other people even though it doesn't violate the code of conduct of network you can blur it by clicking the checkbox below the image. The image will be shown blurred in the post preview and on the post page.
- To delete the image click the
xat the top right corner of the canvas.
3. Add a post title
- Insert the post title. Keep it short, relevant and informative. It can be 3 to 100 characters. The actual number of characters is shown below the input field.
- On saving the post, the post title becomes part of the post's page address (URL). For example, the title A Paradise On Earth becomes https://ocelot.social/post/409c-960-6kj4-888/a-paradise-on-earth. If you modify the title the URL changes accordingly.
